I GOT THE JOB!!
After months and months of waiting the California Endowment has hired me. I will be working full-time M-F! The position is only a year, but I hope to make a lot of contacts and really get to know the non-profit industry. After the year I hope to land a permanent spot at a non-profit and buy a house.

Eureka!!!
I have figured out a way that I can realistically buy a house in the next 1-2 years. The main problem when going to buy a house is that pesky down payment. Realistically, I am looking for a good starter home that will run for about 150,000ish. I have money in a 401k, but if you take out money early (before 60) you get killed in taxes and penalties. What is the way around this you ask?
Step 1: Move the money
Tax the 401k money (15%) and open a Roth IRA. You can fund a Roth IRA up to 5,000 per year. I would fund 5,000 this year (before April) and put in an additional 5,000 next year. There are no penalties for withdrawing funds from a Roth IRA as long as you don't withdraw earnings. Closing cost's factor in to be around 2,500-3,000 additionally.
Step 2. Re-funding the retirement fund.
Thanks to the first time home buyer tax credit, you can receive a 8,000 credit when you file your taxes. That 8,000 would go directly back into the Roth IRA. SWEET.
So there you have it, I get the money needed for down payment, and my retirement fund doesn't take a huge hit.
I am going do the major remodeling work on the house and Kristin will be the decorator.

Waiting......
I THINK that I may have gotten hired for an internship downtown, but I have not heard back yet. I am really hoping that I get this job because it pays well and it's really rewarding in the fact that you get to work for a good cause. I can't wait to start a job and get my career going. I think it would be awesome to work downtown. On my lunch breaks I would have so many different places to go eat and check out. I cant wait.

Tyson
I just finished "Tyson" and I must say after watching it I feel really bad for him. Sure he the world in his hands, but at what cost? At age 20, with the fame and the money, he had gone through what must people will never go through their entire lives. it seems that anyone that was ever close to him died, or betrayed him. His entourage and promotor Don King sucked him dry. In the film you can tell he lost the desire to be the greatest. In his prime, Iron Mike Tyson was a bad man!!

Next possible vacation spot?

So I am bored, and I am looking at possible realistic vacations options for me and my boo. To my surprise, you can take a seven day cruise to Bermuda for 500 bucks each. You spend three days in Bermuda and the rest at Sea. I like the fact that you get three days, instead of the normal 5-6 hours they give you at most ports.
Things to do in Bermuda? Scuba dive/snorkel, rent mope heads and explore, explore the shopping district, and of course layout on the beach and work on the tan! There is so much more to do too, I just haven't looked them all up yet. Not too bad for 500 dollars I'm thinking.

My thoughts on Mike Vick being an Eagle
Yesterday the text's poured in my inbox telling me how lucky the Eagles were for signing Mike Vick. Being a HUGE Eagles fan I guess people thought I would be excited about the move. WRONG. I really don't want that scum bag on my team. Andy Reid has always been a man of character, and all of a sudden this? It makes NO sense to me. We have one of the premier qb's in the league in Donovan McNabb.
How many snaps can we realistically say Mike Vick is going to get a game? Five at most. With all of the extra attention and "circus" like atmosphere it just isnt worth it. The players are going to grow tried of all the constant questions regarding the situation. Why risk the PR nightmare that is Mike Vick?
On the other hand this is an EXCELLENT move on Mike Vick's part. He can use us for a year to get back in shape, and fix his reputation, so he will be all primed up to get his HUGE multimillion dollar contract with another team after this season. Awesome.

Liberty Mutual
I have a "final" interview on Thursday at 3 with Liberty Mutual. I am so excited to start working again, and being able to afford to travel again. I know that I impressed them with the interview, but I was worried that my references, and my assessment test would hold me back. I think Liberty Mutual would be a good fit for me. Heres hoping!!!!!

The GF!
I can't believe I found a girl that has no drama, plays no games, loyal, and such a good person! I could not be happier :) I am looking forward to traveling extensively with her and exploring new places.
Obsessed Much?
After watching the show Obsessed, where a woman pulls out all of her hair, I am very thankful that I don't have any forms of OCD. It seems like a horrible way to live. The other woman on the show is "obsessed" with her dental hygiene and spends 25 minutes a night cleaning her teeth. I wish I had that time and dedication lol. I must say her teeth are VERY white.

The Strokes!
E-A-G-L-E-S
It's about that time, what time you ask? FOOTBALL TIME!! I really believe that this could the Eagles year, they have one of the best 0-lines in football and are being favored in the NFC.
It's my job to convert the gf into a diehard Eagles fan. There is nothing sexier than a girl in a Eagles jersey!

Matt Castle?
The Chief's just gave Matt Castle a six-year deal worth 63 million. This guy is a complete joke, without the line and the wr's of New England he will fail. No wonder the Chiefs have not been good in a decade.

Bad time to be a celebrity
Yet another celebrity has passed over the weekend. Arturo Gatti was murdered in his hotel room by his wife. I honestly can't remember this many celebrities drying around the same time. Here is a tip, be nice to your girlfriend/wife or she may KILL you!

Do people even know how to run a business?
I went with my girlfriend yesterday to help her look at apartments downtown, and I was amazed at the condition they were in. If you are trying rent out properties you think they would be as clean as possible with air fresheners in there, not large balls of hair!

Old Friends
I'm just sad to see one of my best friends drinking hard everyday, smoking weed everyday, and starting to experiment with hard dugs like E.
Nothing new to report on the job front. I filled out two more apps today. I am really wanting to travel with the GF and buy a house soon..... Only thing missing is the high-paying job.

Interview tomorrow
So I have another job interview tomorrow. I don't have much faith in the company that I am interviewing with. The lady I talked to on the phone didn't seem very professional and their website looks like it was created by an amateur. Oh well, doesn't hurt to do the interview I guess.

The GF!
The Current Job Market
When the economy started tanking about a year ago, people told me they felt sorry that I was about to graduate college and be forced to find a real job, I simply brushed them off and laughed. Now reality has set in and I am slowly realizing what they meant. Unless you're in the medical field, or want to do telemarketing and door to door sales there really isn't a lot out there.
I recently had two interviews with a trendy advertising company located downtown, but a las another candidate beat me out. I am still unsure of what exactly it is that I want to do. People have asked me forever "what do you want to be when you grow up?" I still don't have that answer. Perhaps it isn't a specific job that I desire, more so a specific work atmosphere that I could see myself not getting tired of.
I would like to work in a relaxed job setting where everyone gets a long and even the managers are nice to you (hey I might end up being one still.) Weekends off and vacation time are also a must!! What's the point of having a job and money if you can travel and spend it.
